Brandon Finnorn is a 35-year-old oil painter based out of Madisonville, LA. Growing up along the coast of Alabama, he explored the local waterways from
Mobile Bay to Dauphin Island. It was there that he fostered a passion for the
outdoors and natural sciences.
After a brief time in medicine studying pediatrics, Brandon decided to apply his passion for science in a completely different field: fine art and illustration. As his artwork developed and reached a broader audience, he chose to leave medicine and become a full-time artist in 2017.
Armed with a telephoto lens and an underwater housing, Brandon explores the Gulf Coast photographing coastal wildlife and capturing underwater marine environments which he then brings back to the studio to recreate on canvas.
His oil paintings attempt to recapture and highlight the awe-inspiring sights and beauty of the Gulf Coast.
Through his career as an illustrator, he has worked alongside brands like Orvis, Simms, and the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo. Brandon’s work has also been featured internationally in We Are Fly Fishing Magazine, In The Loop Magazine, Mobile Bay Magazine, and Orvis News.
