Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Devontae is a largely self-taught painter whose journey began in a second-grade classroom where a teacher’s encouragement turned classroom doodles into a lifelong pursuit.
Inspired by art history and sharpened through mentorship and personal exploration, Devontae creates work that bridges the past and present. His style blends the stylized and representational, playing with color, texture, and negative space to spark bold visual contrast.
Each piece reflects a reverence for traditional forms reimagined through a modern lens—a dialogue between eras, and a lifelong dream made visible.
