Braden Grafe

A Mobile native now living and painting in the South Carolina lowcountry, Braden's work is deeply informed by both study and soul. She has a B.A. in Art History from Southern Methodist University and a master’s in education with a concentration in art. 

Inspired by the ever-changing beauty outside her studio window— from tidal marshes to coastal birds—Braden creates expressive oil paintings using mostly palette knives. It’s a tool she says brings both surrender and surprise to her process.

In recent years, she began incorporating words into her impressionist landscapes and bird studies, adding a personal, reflective layer that honors her faith and deep love for the natural world.
